AIIMS Bhubaneswar to get its first brain bank (LOCAL)

Profile photo AIIMS Bhubaneswar A brain bio-bank will soon be established at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar to aid neurobiology research. The ICMR will fund the establishment of this one-of-a-kind facility in eastern India. The brain bank will be the second state-of-the-art facility as part of the national task force initiative, following the advanced molecular and diagnostic center for fungus, which is being established at the Microbiology department's mycology laboratory.      A brain bank is a place where human brain tissues are stored.  The facility will be located at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and the brains will be available for research purposes.      AIIMS Director Dr. Gitanjali Batmanabane said the institute has received Rs 47 lakh from ICMR in the first phase to establish the brain bank.      As part of the ongoing goodwill visit to Europe and Africa, the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Tabar participated in a Maritime Partnership Exercise with the Algerian Navy ship 'Ezzadjer' on August 29. Indian Naval Ship (INS) Tabar, commenced its prolonged deployment on June 13 to visit various ports in Africa and Europe till the end of September. The landmark exercise conducted at the Algerian coast saw the participation of 'Ezzadjer', a frontline Algerian warship. The objective of the exercise was to enhance interoperability, understand the concept of operations followed by each other, and opened the possibility of increasing interaction and collaboration between the two navies in the future. INS Tabar is a Talwar-class stealth Frigate built in Russia for the Indian Navy. Many surveys have identified this as the primary reason why many couples choose to have only one child together. Couples with a plan to restructure the booming personal training business may be ordered to move non-income following press reports in China. China's one-child policy, implemented by former President Deng Xiaoping in 1980, stayed in place until 2016.      Fears of a growing increasing population limiting economic growth pushed the ruling Communist Party to allow such a few children per married pair. The adjustments follow China's once-every-ten-year population census. Odisha sponsoring National Hockey team (NATIONAL & STATE)

     This is for the first time in history that a state government sponsored a national team. Odisha government announced a five-year deal with Hockey India in 2018 to replace Sahara as the sponsor of all national teams. The budget for junior and senior, men and women, in a deal was estimated to be approximately Rs 150 crore at that time.      Odisha was brought on board when Hockey India withdrew their contract with Sahara. The contract was extended upto 2021 in January 2017.  Although no official explanation was offered from both the sides terminating the agreement early, a Hockey India official said it was a "mutual choice" due to the company's crisis.
