Odisha government announced a five-year deal with Hockey India in 2018 to replace Sahara as the sponsor of all national teams. The budget for junior and senior, men and women, in a deal was estimated to be approximately Rs 150 crore at that time.      Odisha was brought on board when Hockey India withdrew their contract with Sahara. The contract was extended upto 2021 in January 2017.  Although no official explanation was offered from both the sides terminating the agreement early, a Hockey India official said it was a "mutual choice" due to the company's crisis.        Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal inaugurated a strategically significant route connecting Leh and the Pangong Lake in Leh on Tuesday, claiming that the portion travelling through the Kela Pass at 18,600 feet will be the world's highest motorable way.The road, constructed by the 58 Engineer Regiment of the Indian Army, will reduce 41-km of travel from Leh (Zingral to Tangtse) to the picturesque Pangong Lake crossing the Kela Pass, the Lok Sabha member said.      "Tourists will be able to see the world's highest motorable road, rare medicinal plants, participate in snow sport activities, see nomadic livestock, lakes and other attractions," Mr. Namgyal said.      "The road, which was inaugurated today, will be the world's highest motorable road for the general public at a height of 18,600 feet. Jena also moved his mouth close to the water source and drank from it as camera flashes went off and TV news reporters gathered about to emphasise the state government's recent statement that Puri would be the first Indian city where people may "drink straight from the tap."      “While other cities in India like Mumbai, Delhi or Chennai may be providing clean drinking water, it is surely not available for entire 24 hours. Odisha's Bhubaneswar has become the first city in India to achieve 100 percent vaccination coverage against Covid-19. Additionally, about one lakh migrant workers have also been administered the first dose of Covid vaccines in the capital city of Odisha. Talking to India Today TV, Anshuman Rath, South-east Zonal Deputy Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, said, “100 percent of the population in Bhubaneswar have been vaccinated against Covid-19. Along with this, one lakh migrant workers in the city have been administered the first jab.” He further said, “The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation set a goal of immunizing cent percent of its population by July 31.
