Short Intro to Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya
S cholar-saint Kulpita Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya (1911-1990), founder of the All World Gayatri Pariwar, foresaw a university that would integrate the principles of practical knowledge (Shiksha) with spiritual education (Vidya) to produce enlightened students. The university's well-rounded and active students would direct their efforts toward the development of a holy, value-based society. They would live a simple, spiritual existence. They demanded to have exposure to cutting-edge technology as well as the wisdom of ancient conventional methods. The foundation was laid in 1999 under the auspices of Shantikunj, the mother institution. When the University Grants Commission of India approved the university in April of 2002, the vision became a reality.
