Short Intro to Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya
Scholar-saint Kulpita Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya (1911-1990), founder of the All World Gayatri Pariwar, foresaw a university that would integrate the principles of practical knowledge (Shiksha) with spiritual education (Vidya) to produce enlightened students. The university's well-rounded and active students would direct their efforts toward the development of a holy, value-based society.
They would live a simple, spiritual existence. They demanded to have exposure to cutting-edge technology as well as the wisdom of ancient conventional methods. The foundation was laid in 1999 under the auspices of Shantikunj, the mother institution. When the University Grants Commission of India approved the university in April of 2002, the vision became a reality.
Now, irrespective of race,
creed, locality, or religion, this university has genuinely become a catalyst
for the dissemination of divine culture. Unlike most colleges, DSVV is
concerned with all elements of its students' lives, including academics,
culture, social life, and spirituality. The ultimate goal of DSVV students is
to mould themselves into responsible citizens who can contribute to the
development of a just and successful society, not to raise their financial
capacity. This purpose is shared by both students and staff at DSVV. The
students would preserve the Vedic tradition's vitality by living a healthy,
modest lifestyle with a focus on traditional Indian cultural values.
The residential campus,
located at the foothills of the Himalayas and on the banks of the Ganga,
provides a peaceful setting for the holistic development of the individual. Dev
Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya (University) was founded in 2002 at Haridwar,
Uttarakhand, next to the sacred Ganges, amid the foothills of the Himalayas.
The campus, which is surrounded by rich Himalayan scenery and covers over 76 acres of land, has a superb infrastructure as well as dedicated faculty, staff, and knowledge-seeking students. The University was founded in response to the increasing need for a high-quality educational system based on scientific spirituality and rooted in a spiritual way of life. DSVV's first objective is to cultivate a culture of young ethical, moral, and spiritual growth.
Character excellence, unwavering courage, unwavering determination, and a strong will to work are characteristics shared by our pupils. DSVV emphasizes the combination of modern education and instilling human values, thanks to Patron founder Yugrishi Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya's vision. Several curricula based on the core principles of Indian culture have been launched in this entirely residential university, which is moulded in a spiritual environment.
